Relax and Unwind in the Beautiful Dorset Countryside

A luxury glamping stay awaits in one of our artisan shepherds huts.
Nestled on the Hannam Family’s idyllic dairy farm; reminiscent of the rambling Thomas Hardy Country in which they reside.

Me and him and the outdoors and all the comfort we could have wished for! Such a beautiful time away. Peaceful, relaxed, comforting and idyllic. Even had the luxury of not only homemade heart shaped scones (a sheer delight) but also got to witness the pheasant (Pete as we shall call him) shuffle across the field whilst we slugged our red wine around the fire pit cooking our sea bass purchased from Weymouth quay. Bucket list perfection

About Us

The dairy farm is run by Father and Son team, Paul and Jon, with the milk from the 150 mixed herd going to local cheese makers Barbers. The family have been farming for over 5 generations and have been at Colber Farm for the last 20 years. In May 2017 Farmstead Glamping was set up and is now run the family. Jon and Hannah live on the farm with their young family and will be your point of contact during your stay. From the very start our aim was clear; to provide a luxury glamping experience that was respectful of its rural heritage and to do so in an environmentally sustainable manner whilst promoting all things Dorset!

Sustainability

As a family we are becoming increasingly aware of our impact on the environment and try to mitigate this where possible. This is a vision that we have seen reflected by the majority of our guests, so it seemed only natural to move the business forwards by making changes towards a more sustainable experience. Whilst our business has always been green, we have made some recent improvements and are proud to be holders of the Green Tourism Gold Award. When you book a stay at Farmstead Glamping, we want you to be assured that we have done everything possible to minimise our effect on the environment.

Out and About

If you choose to tear yourself away from the comfort of your shepherds hut then you'll find lots to do! Miles of footpaths emulate from your front door so you can explore the local countryside by foot or bike and you are welcome to bring your four-legged friend along with you. Come back to your Shepherds hut, get the fires going and relax under the starry night sky in your private wood burning hot tub, whats not to love!  We are in a great location for exploring all of Dorset; from the World Heritage site of the Jurassic coast, to the rural landscapes described by Thomas Hardy, there is so much to do and see in our beautiful County

Dog Friendly

With miles of walks in the area and plenty of dog friendly eateries, Farmstead Glamping is a great choice if you would like to bring your dog with you. You are very welcome to bring your dog when staying in The Pleasant Pheasant at any time of the year Dogs are charged at £20 per dog per stay. We can accept booking with dogs to The Heron during the summer months

Food and Drink

I am always in aw of the variety of food that comes out of Dorset. There really is something for everyone. We are able to provide guest with a variety of local food produce hampers upon request. There are some great cafe's and pubs with in walking distance of Farmstead Glamping or just a short drive away and many of these are dog friendly too.
