We are closing until June
In light of the current government advice regarding travel within the UK that we have made the decision to cancel all guests due to travel to us in the coming months. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly but in the end it was a easy one to make. All we know about this virus is telling us to act now, to stay at home and stay safe and we could not in good conscience remain open.
We appreciate as a guest you may find this decision disappointing and we do hope that you will understand why we have made it. We look forwards to welcoming you to Farmstead Glamping as soon as this crisis is over.
If you are a guest due to stay with is during this time i will be in touch with you in due course to discuss your booking
We are hoping to be open again in June and therefore summer booking should be unaffected. However there are no guarantees that this will be the case and we will not reopen until we feel it is safe for our guest, ourselves and the local community to do so.
Many thanks for your patience
This feels like such a surreal message to be writing, after months of what feels like endless rain, the sun is finally shining, the birds are singing and yet it feels like there is a cloud hovering over us all. The current Covid -19 (coronavirus) is a cause of concern for many of us and being a rapidly evolving situation what a am writing today may no longer be relevant tomorrow!
Current Government Advice
The current government advice is to stop all “non-essential” travel, and to avoid all unnecessary social contact. This is especially relevant to those over 70, pregnant women and anyone with underlying health conditions. You’ll need to decide what this means for you. details of this can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-guidance-on-social-distancing-and-for-vulnerable-people
As of yet there has been no mention of the need to close holiday accommodation, but we will continue to monitor the daily government briefings and adjust our position if necessary.
For the time being we will continue to welcome guests to farmstead glamping. We have just two accommodation spaces and they are separated by over 200 meters and similar distances from our home and that of our neighbours. This allows for effective social distancing. As always the safely of our guests is our main priority and over the last week we have increased our already stringent measures to protect the health of both guests and our family based team. We are following the guidelines set out by Public Health England to ensure that we provide our guests with a safe place to stay.
After great debate and with regret, we will continue to operate our ‘self’ check-in, only without a visit from myself. I will be contactable by phone to talk to guests and will be available to visit if absolutely necessary. As I am sure you can appreciate these extra measures take more time and we kindly ask that you check out by 10.30am on the day of your departure to allow us sufficient time to prepare the space again for the next guests.
We ask our guests to help us by following the current Government advice which can be found her: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
- Please wash your hand regularly with the antibacterial hand wash provided.
- Please use the antibacterial kitchen spray provided.
- We politely ask that you keep a distance of at least 2m from other guests, staff and members of the public.
- If you wish to support our local business at a time where we are all struggling then please let me know, many are now offering takeaway services and we continue to offer our locally sourced food hampers.
- We ask that if you are displaying the symptoms of Covid-19 (A Cough and/or Fever) that you do not travel to Farmstead Glamping and that if you develop such symptoms during or after you stay with us you promptly let us know.
We fully appreciate that despite these measures many of you will still have concerns about travelling at this uncertain time or will be unable to travel due to specific health concerns.
If you have booked your trip through our website our cancellation policy can be found in here in our terms and conditions. Within our T&Cs we do recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover you in the event that you are unable to travel. I would kindly ask that in the event that you wish to cancel your stay with us that your travel insurance is your first port of call. Failing that where possible we will try to accommodate the rescheduling of stays. Please get in touch on 01258 472162 or firstname.lastname@example.org, I am sorry if I am not able to respond straight away, please allow 24 hours for a response during these times.

However we expect to be able to reschedule as may stays as possible. Canopy and Stars can be contacted on 0117 204 7830 or you can use my contact detail above and I will contact them on your behalf.
In the event that we have to cancel your stay due to closure if the site you will be contacted at our earliest convenience and offered to either reschedule your stay or a receive a full refund regardless of who you have booked through.
